We wanted this just to make it easier to climb in the back of the truck and to be able reach the windshield when washing— for convenience. As for washing, my husband still can’t reach the windshield on his F-350. And, since it must be stored somewhere, it’s not very convenient to have to retrieve it every time you want to climb in the bed. By the time you retrieve this handy little step, you could already have been in the back of the truck and back out again. But, if you are physically unable to climb in or have a smaller truck, then this is may be just what you are looking for. Seems well made, so we have no complaints about the quality.

I love this thing, but I do have one complaint. It makes my trailer weave all over the road and it tends to fly off if I get to going over 35 MPH. Other than that I am very happy with my purchase!

I was really looking forward to using this product when washing the vehicle and loading the roof top carrier. Unfortunately it won’t work on a Highlander Limited. The metal bar that sits across the back of the tire will not fit between the tire and the coil spring housing. Bummer.

Apart from that little problem the product is well designed and of high quality. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it if it will fit your vehicle.

The TireStep arrived in a thin factory provided, carcboard container… no packing material involved. The outer end flap was ‘ripped’ open about 1/2 way. After verifying that everything seemed OK, I noticed that in the bottom of the box was a wing nut and a washer.

If I had thrown the box away the step would have worked as expected… until it would suddenly fail due to the lack of the wing nut.

So, great product. Shoddy packaging and assembly.
